in·grained.

I have this thing for Mexico...

And it isn't my fault

It is my parent's fault

They are the ones who showed me the beautiful place

They sparked my interest in the history and the ruins

They taught me about the Mayan people

They took me to Santa Rita

They showed me how similar people are

Regardless of what language you speak or where you sleep at night

They made friends down there and I followed in their footsteps

It feels as though we have family in Mexico

And well... I love it.

So when my parents decided to take me and Josh and Zak and Em

down to Akumal right after Christmas?

I was elated

Our week seemed to be over in the span of one day

It's because we were having lots of fun

Emily and I put our feet in a fish bowl

and let dozens of little fish feed on our dead skin

K, Z, and J went on a deep sea fishing trip and on a diving trip

T, E, and S read on the beach and found really fabulous purses

We visited Coba and a secret, perfect, cenote

Zak ordered alcohol

Tam and Kev wouldn't leave the pharmacy

Things got crazy

And I wish we were still there...

I. Want. To. Live. There.

PS: My super cool brother-in-law Spencer?
He gets to serve a mission in Mexico.
Excited!

plan.

a scheme or method of acting, doing,
 proceeding, making, etc.

I am a firm believer that when I make goals

I am more likely to reach them

If I tell lots of people

I really think it works

So here is my plan for making myself better in 2012:

1. Start a fitness program

2. Do ALL my laundry and then? Keep it under control.

3. Clean out my car--like really really clean it out.

4. Actually read my textbooks this semester.

5. Learn new words

6. Finish "my" room (really our guest bedroom).

7. Cook new dinners.

8. Save more. Spend less.

9. Get rid of LOTS of clothes...

10. Hike all over my beautiful state.

11. Find the good in everyone.

12. Start studying for the GRE.

thwart.

to oppose successfully; prevent from accomplishing purpose.
to frustrate or baffle.

My niece Taylee got an  Itouch for Christmas

And so naturally we started playing Words With Friends together

She is ten

My plan was to let her win

Without her knowing that I was not trying

Well.

Not three moves into the game...

She plays "liquid"

108 points

No cheating, no help, all Taylee

I guess I shouldn't underestimate the young

I. Got. Served.
